NFTRanker rankings are produced by community pairwise voting. Each matchup places two NFTs from the same collection side by side. A voter chooses one. NFTRanker applies an Elo-style update to both tokens based on the outcome and their current scores. Repeat this across thousands of matchups and a live, community-sourced leaderboard emerges.
Every ranking originates from a single pairwise comparison: one voter, two NFTs from the same collection, one choice. Voters are never asked to rate an entire collection or assign numeric scores. The interface presents one matchup and records which token the voter preferred in that moment.
Pairwise comparison sidesteps the scale inconsistency problem that arises when voters rate things in isolation. Voters answer one simple, honest question: between these two tokens, which do you prefer right now?
After each matchup, NFTRanker applies an Elo-style rating update to both tokens. The winner gains points and the loser loses points. The size of the exchange depends on how surprising the result was relative to each token's current score. Beating a high-scoring token produces a larger gain than beating a low-scoring one.
Total completed matchups in which the token received a vote outcome. Skips are not counted.
Battles won divided by total battles, expressed as a percentage. Visible on every token detail page.
A number that reflects consistent matchup performance relative to collection peers. Higher is stronger.
Rankings recalculate in near-real time. A vote cast now can change a leaderboard position within seconds.
Floor price, sales velocity, trait rarity, social media engagement, and on-chain holder counts are not ranking inputs. The core signal is preference under comparison, which is independent of all of these.
Rarity measures trait scarcity. Price measures market demand. Community preference, as measured by NFTRanker, measures which tokens people actually choose when confronted with a direct comparison. All three are valid lenses. NFTRanker captures the third one, which is the most underrepresented in existing NFT tools.
